Night Fever: A Glam Seventies Bridal Shoot for Rock n Roll Bride Magazine

The Seventies was a decade of unforgettable fashion, giving us hippie chic, power dressing, glam rock and punk. From Farrah Fawcett to Bianca Jagger, Cher to Debbie Harry, the fashion of this 10-year period was iconic in every sense of the word.

For the fashion editorial shoot in issue 27 I wanted to hone in on this fantastic decade but to bring it bang up to date for the modern bride. Think sequins, ostrich feathers, sparkles and a killer pair of colourful heels!

I LOVED publishing this one (and you guys seemed to too, despite the unconventional cover shot!) and so today I wanted to share some of the images that ended up on the proverbial cutting room floor.

Our stunning models were BFFs Sheri aka Forever Yours Betty and Amanda aka Honeypop Kisses who flew all the way down from Scotland to marry each other for us (ha!) I hope you enjoy looking through the full set.

They also used lots of subtle lighting to embellish the already grand ambiance of the Empire Music Hall. “We wanted everyone at our wedding to have the feeling of being at home.” said Amy.

Irish Pagan Wedding with Outdoorsy, Festival Touches

A decade after they were set up on a blind date, Chris and Stephen married in a Pagan ceremony at The Hamlet Court Hotel in Meath, Ireland on 3rd May 2019. As they are both musicians and go to a lot of concerts together, they wanted a lot of musical influence over the day. Chris originally wanted to get married outdoors, like a ‘real Pagan’, so they tried to have some woodsy touches too to bring the outside in – and so their weird and wonderful wedding theme was formed!

Rooftop Winter Wedding in Kansas City

Jessyca and Hulon met in a plus sized fashion Facebook group and decided to meet up in person… and the rest, as the old cliche goes, is history. They arranged everything for their nuptials themselves. As an operations manager at their own music studio (825 Studios) and VP at Hulon’s record label, Jessyca was certainly well qualified for the job!
